Our deer friend and Comrade “Gig” has went to heaven. Gig served in both the USN and USAF for 27 years and has been a part of the Chandler VFW for 4 decades. Please come down to the VFW Post 7401 and share your memories and time with his friends and family. The ceremony will be at 2:00 on Saturday September 24th. In Lieu of flowers family and friends ask that donations be made to the VFW. There will be a Pot Luck (bring a snack or dish) following the ceremony and the post will be NON-SMOKING untill 4PM in consideration for our guests. A special thank you to Jolie of Jolies place for donating food. There will be funeral services late in October at the National Cemetery, details to follow.

Harry 84, peacefully entered into Heaven on February 3 2016. Born in Brooklyn on August 8th 1931. Harry served his country in the US Navy from 1949-1973. The Navy was his career, His years of service took him through the Japanese occupation of WW2, Korean War, Cuban Crisis and Vietnam.

After retirement he became a great advocate for veterans. Volunteering his time with the FRA, American Legion, VFW and Korean War Veterans Assoc. He served as the Grand Commander of the Cooties 2002-2003.

Our beloved Diane Draves has moved on to be with our creator. Diane spent a lifetime dedicating herself to her children, husband, family and friends. The Veterans of Foreign Wars, Cooties, Ladies Auxiliary, Community and world has lost a dear and dedicated person and she will be greatly missed.

The family and community will be joining together on Sunday November 15th at 3:00 to share and honor an incredible woman. There will be food and memories alike.

Our Beloved Bonnie

April 25, 1932 – December 14, 2014

It is with great regret that our beloved Bonnie has passed. She is now in the heavens waiting for us with open arms. Bonnie dedicated herself to our VFW, Cooties and VA Hospital for many years and was a great example of unselfishness and dedication. We will miss her dearly and know she is at peace.

2 Thessalonians 3:16

Bonnie Jean Michalka, born April 25, 1932 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Leo and Alton Pinch, passed away on December 14, 2014 at the age of 82 in Mesa, Arizona. Bonnie had many careers throughout her life from being an Elementary School teacher in La Mesa, California to working at the First Interstate Bank and for 16 years, Bonnie worked as an Patient Administrator for the V.A. Clinic. She was very active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW); an active member of the Eastern Star, the Order of True Kindred, the Order of the Amaranth and other Masonic organizations. She was a member of Central Christian Church for several years.
